Moms on the Run was once again named to Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s list of largest Twin Cities-based franchising companies, a designation we’ve received since 2019.
We asked Karissa Johnson, Founder and CEO of Moms on the Run, how Moms on the Run came to be a franchisor and what’s ahead for the company.
Q: Moms on the Run has again been named to the Minneapolis Saint Paul Business Journal’s list of largest Twin Cities-based franchising companies. What was your reaction?
Q: What do you like best about franchising?
A: Being able to make a difference in so many more women’s lives! It’s a true blessing to partner with women entrepreneurs who share the same passion to make a difference in their community.
Q: As a franchisor, what challenges do you face?
A: Franchising requires a ton of administrative work and legal compliance, none of which are reduced just because our business opportunity is “part time.” So, from a financial perspective, my biggest challenge is staffing a company with a budget based on part-time revenues. This will continue to be a unique challenge until the company is much larger.
Q: What’s next for Moms on the Run?
A: We’re investing in staff, preparing for the next phase of growth. We’re excited to get our brand into many more communities that need fitness, fun and friendship nationwide!
