The Twin Cities metro area is home to some fun, picturesque, engaging places. We invite you to our next contest: the 2019 Twin Cities Photo Run!
We have compiled a list of places around the Twin Cities metro area for this adventure. Your challenge, if you decide to take it, is to find the locations listed, head there, and take your photo. The more places you visit, the better chances you have to win. You can make it as creative as you'd like: show us your team, your friends, your family, your furry family member.
The rules are as follows:
What do you do if you're training for a marathon and on the day you are signed up to do a 17-mile trail race, a freak April blizzard cancels your plans? Well, if you're this month's Most Inspiring Member, you run anyway, of course!
On May 5, Eau Claire Moms on the Run member Sarah Kleven will run the Eau Claire Marathon. As part of her training, she signed up for the 2019 Zumbro Endurance Run, a trail race that takes place in southeastern Minnesota's bluff country featuring high bluffs, deep river valleys and rugged terrain. Unfortunately, race organizers ended up cancelling the race because of a spring blizzard that wreaked havoc in the area. Sarah was devastated.
"I checked my email at 3 in the morning and may have shed some tears," Sarah recalls. "I've wanted to run Zumbro for a couple years. It's been on my radar ever since I watched some of my MOTR friends do it."
Moms on the Run is excited to announce the addition of its 50th franchise — and 9th state — with the recent additions of Austin (TX), Denver (CO) and Lafayette (LA). Now more women can experience the fitness, fun and friendship that makes Moms on the Run so unique.
Our mission is to inspire and transform women through a healthy lifestyle of fitness, fun and friendship. We are all about women supporting other women (not just moms), helping them to embrace fitness routines that fit their busy lives.
Our Moms on the Run story is quite special: What started in a park with a group of moms just wanting to run a simple 5K has transformed into a nationally franchised running company with 50 locations in nine states. We have helped transform thousands of women's lives, and in turn, the lives of their families. Welcome to Moms on the Run. If you've been searching for the motivation to get your start as a runner, this program is for you! And if you've been running for years and want additional challenge and motivation, we have advanced training for you, as well.
Watch our story, then find a location near you to join us! We welcome women of all ages and all levels — and, you don't have to be a mom! If you're a bit hesitant to try us, we have a great opportunity for you. Many of our franchises nationwide will be offering a new variety of trial programs or trial classes this month, so check out our locations page to contact the franchise nearest you. If you don't see one, why not contact us about starting up a Moms on the Run in your community?
Maple Grove Moms on the Run was featured this month in an articled titled "Fitness and Friendship: Maple Grove Moms on the Run offers fitness to busy women" in Press & News.
Franchise owner Sheila Kenyon summed up the 'why' of Moms on the Run at the end of the article: "Maple Grove moms should join Moms on the Run if they are looking for a community within their community where they will feel supported in their fitness goals, want to surround themselves with positive, upbeat women who enjoy being involved in their community, and just want to have fun."
