Mike Ewaldt was an inspiration to all of us at Moms on the Run, and we are deeply saddened to learn of his passing. Mike and his sister, Niki Ronnan, crossed many finish lines — several marathons, 20-milers, 5Ks, Ragnars and other races — as she ran pushing his wheelchair.
Niki never planned on running until her mom signed her up for Moms on the Run in 2010. She began to take her brother out on the trails with her, calling themselves Team Heart: she was the legs; he was the heart. Niki became a coach for many years with Stillwater and White Bear Lake Moms on the Run.
