Training Tip with Carrie: Annoying Things Part 3

Listen in as Moms on the Run National Fitness Director, Olympian Carrie Tollefson, shares Annoying Things part 3 of 4. Carrie continues a lighthearted series about annoying things that people say to runners or that runners do. Today’s focus shifts to us as runners. Have you done this before a race? Admit it… is this you?

“Hi everybody, I’m Olympian Carrie Tollefson and also your National Fitness Director at Moms on the Run. And we’re going to continue on with this Training Tip Tuesday talking about annoying things that runners say or people say to runners.

I think that being a runner, some of the things that I find super annoying that I say is that, ‘Oh I can eat anything,’ or ‘Oh, I’m easy, I can do this or that.’ And then race day comes and I’m like, ‘Oh I needed this, I need that, I need to go to bed at this time, I only can have chicken and rice.’ So I want you guys to remember, we are annoying the day before a race or the morning of a race. And so I think the best thing to do is just speak your mind.

So, if you are going with a group of gals or a group of guys or whoever and you know you want to have a bagel for the breakfast, well go find your bagel. If you are someone that needs to have your own room, then definitely just speak your mind and say it. Don’t be wishy-washy.”
