Destination Run Weekend: Live Podcast Featuring Carrie Tollefson and Sara Slattery

Moms on the Run is excited to host a live podcast during our Run Arizona destination weekend featuring Olympian Carrie Tollefson and Sara Slattery, speaker and author, head coach of men’s and women’s cross country for Grand Canyon University and successful NCAA and professional runner.

Sara is one of the all-time running greats from the University of Colorado; she graduated in 2003 with a degree in economics and earned a master’s degree in secondary and adult education in 2005. She was a four-time NCAA champion, 10-time Big 12 champion and a 10-time All-American as a student-athlete, setting three school records (indoor mile, indoor 3,000 meters and outdoor 5,000 meters). In 2016, Sara was inducted into the Colorado Athletics Hall of Fame.

Sara was a professional distance runner, competing in national and international competitions. In 2007, she was the Pan American Games champion in the 10,000 meters in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. She was an alternate for the U.S. team at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and has been a member of other U.S. national teams.

Sara and two-time Olympian Molly Huddle co-authored “How She Did It: Stories, Advice and Secrets to Success from Fifty Legendary Distance Runners,” an inspiring book about women’s athletic achievements. A book signing will follow the live podcast; pre-order the book here.

Moms on the Run National Fitness Director, Olympian Carrie Tollefson, will host the live podcast, with special guests Moms on the Run founder Karissa Johnson and OOFOS’ Wendi Kremlin, at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona expo on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 1:30 p.m.
