Jacksonville’s Amy Magdalein-Gurley receives GOTR Remarkable Volunteer Award

Congratulations to Jacksonville Moms on the Run Franchise Owner, Amy Magdalein-Gurley, who received the Remarkable Volunteer Award, a national honor presented by Girls on the Run International!
Amy noted she was asked to talk about Jacksonville Moms on the Run at a GOTR coach training session — but instead, they surprised her with the national volunteer award!
“Amy has been a champion for Girls on the Run of Northeast Florida since 2018,” the organization shared. “As a dedicated volunteer and SoleMate fundraiser, she has raised more than $28,000 to ensure girls in our community can experience the confidence, joy, and connection that Girls on the Run provides.”
They continued, “Her impact doesn’t stop there—Amy inspires others to join the movement by rallying her Jacksonville Moms on the Run community to volunteer at our 5K events, fundraising in creative ways (including running the nation’s largest 15K while carrying a QR code sign!), and opening doors to new opportunities that help us grow and thrive.”
“Girls on the Run of Northeast Florida is an organization that is near and dear to my heart,” replied Amy, “and I’m so honored to receive this award. Thank you GOTR for the recognition but really, I thank them for all the work and love and support they put into loving on our youth! The difference made in these girls’ lives is unquestionably impactful. I have girls and their parents tell me ALL the time how they remember their time at GOTR and how much they enjoyed it and how much it shaped their future. Over the past eight years, my MOTR friends and myself have raised just under $100,000 for Girls on the Run! I’m excited to start this year’s fundraising, which I will be kicking off soon!”
Congratulations, Amy, on this well-deserved honor! We’re so proud of you and how well you exemplify the mission of Moms on the Run in your community.
