Moms on the Run is an instructor-led fitness program with coaching to motivate, educate and encourage you on your fitness journey. Whether you’re training for your first 5K, training for a longer distance, or just looking for walking buddies, we have a program for you! You’ll make new friends, find accountability, and have fun while working toward a healthier lifestyle.

Signature Training Program April 23-August 26, 2023
Our cardiovascular interval training classes for all levels include strength training, stretching and education. Our Learn to Run program will help you safely build up to your first 5k race. Walkers and experienced runners, improve your speed and endurance with an interval training schedule designed to maximize your fitness levels.


  • Interval Training:  Monday evenings from 5:30-6:30pm and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm at Central Park Victoria West 
  • Endurance Run: New "Come Run With Me" class on Sunday mornings with start times at either 7 or 8 am (location updated soon)
  • Sunrise Run/Yoga Stretch:  Monday mornings at 6:30 am (location TBD)

RACE WITH US THIS SEASON!

​Join us as we celebrate moms during our Mother's Day weekend event: Celebrate MOMS Fun Run 5K. Stay tuned to details on our local event to join in the fun run and after party!

​Everyone is welcome (not just Moms on the Run members). We'll have a fun run, refreshments, flowers and awesome swag. Our 5K package includes our customized flip flops and foot spa kit, plus a printable race bib.

The annual Moms on the Run 5K/10K and Kids Run on Sunday, Aug. 27, is a great way to celebrate your summer training season. We are once again in person at beautiful Lake Phalen in St. Paul, MN. If you can't make that date, we also have a virtual option available. New this year, we have a long sleeve quarter zip for all participants!

All women are welcome to join us! This event is fun for all and is not exclusive to members.

INTERVAL TRAINING WITH STRENGTH30 minutes of cardio + strength & stretching

These classes use cardio intervals to improve metabolism and cardiovascular fitness.  Beginning runners will learn to run, moving from mostly walking to running as they progress, with the goal of completing a 5K distance at the end of the season. Experienced runners will complete 30 minutes of interval training  to improve their running speed and fitness levels, with workouts designed by our National Fitness Director, Olympian Carrie Tollefson. A short strength training component, stretching, and education conclude the class.

Our weekly steady paced cardio workouts are designed to help participants build endurance and either increase their mileage, maintain their running base, or add in an additional interval workout. Participants typically walk or jog for 30 to 45+ minutes with longer options available for those training for a 10K, half marathon or beyond...

Meet Our coaches

OWNER AND HEAD COACH ANNA CARLSON

​I am very excited to begin my third year as owner of the Roseville and St. Anthony/New Brighton Moms on Run locations!  I started running about 13 years ago, inspired by my youngest daughter Maya who has many health challenges.  I joined MOTR in 2013 as a participant, expecting to stay for one season to help me make running more of a routine.  The community that MOTR provides drew me in and got me hooked.  I haven't missed a season since!  I became a volunteer coach in 2016 and love working with women at whatever their fitness goals might be.  My spouse and I have four daughters and six fur babies (three dogs and three cats).    I am an EL teacher at a kindergarten center as well, and fluent in Spanish. I have run four marathons, one trail and three road.   One highlight of my running career was during my first marathon in 2019 that I ran in honor of my daughter Maya.  I got to push her across the finish line!  I am so excited to work with all of you and have you as part of our big Moms on the Run family!

HEAD COACH Josie Kahlenbeck

I'm excited to start my coaching journey with Moms on the Run! I joined MOTR at the end of the 2022 summer session. It helped me get back to running after having a baby and feeling really run down from a stressful pregnancy. I started running in college as a way to help manage stress and get outside and have continued since. I have completed the Twin Cities Marathon twice, the first time I ran sick so I did it again the next year, and liked the challenge of pushing myself and seeing if I could do something I once thought I couldn't do! Outside of this role, I work in student services at the University of Minnesota and am the proud mom to a one year old human and two year old dog. ​
