FRANCHISE OWNER & HEAD COACH: KAREY

Hi! My name is Karena Rother (please call me Karey), and I am the new franchise owner of Hastings Moms on the Run!! I am a lifelong Hastings resident and have been a member of MOTR since 2012! I originally joined to meet new people and try to get back into shape after the birth of my 3rd child. They are 17, 16 and 14 now, and keep me busy as a taxicab and cheerleader. I am also a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) and have been an RN for more than 20 years. I know how important fitness is in improving both physical and mental well-being.

I love MOTR’s focus on fitness, fun, and friendship, and I am passionate about helping women feel better in all aspects of their lives. Although I am a proud back-of-the-pack runner, that doesn’t mean I don’t run hard and have fun! I have completed 3 Ragnar trails, the TC10 mile, multiple MOTR 5 and 10k’s, almost every Gobble Gait since 2012, and various other races around the area. As a (almost) newly certified fitness instructor (ACE) I can’t wait to meet and help others achieve their goals and work on a few of my own in the meantime! I’m also looking forward to reconnecting with my running mamas and getting to know everyone! Happy running!!

VOLUNTEER COACHES AMY & MANDY

Coach Mandy (right): “I have been a member of Moms on the Run since the fall of 2015 and started volunteer coaching in 2021. Favorite distance: 10K. I joined MOTR because a friend posted a cute pic of running shoes on FB and asked if anyone needed an excuse to buy a new pair of shoes. That was all it took! I was the working mom of three young children and needed an outlet for myself to meet other women and to get accountability for working out, both of which I didn’t normally do confidently. I found so much more than I ever could have imagined.”

Coach Amy (left): “I joined Hastings MOTR in the fall of 2015. My favorite race distance is any that I’m well-trained for. I started volunteer coaching at the end of 2021 at Polar Run Club. I appreciate how it keeps me accountable. It’s been fun to help others work toward their goals.”

COACH STEPHANIE

Stephanie will be coaching the majority of our Virtual Class Yogalates. Stephanie is passionate about yoga and the health benefits it provides, both physically and mentally.

Yoga has been a part of Stephanie’s life since 2005. She received her Registered Yoga Teacher 200-hour certification in November 2014 and has been teaching ever since. She teaches Vinyasa, Hatha, gentle, myofascial release, and kids’ yoga.

Stephanie creates a safe space, a welcoming environment and teaches from a place of compassion that allows students to explore powerful healing and growth.

SPRING AND SUMMER

SIGNATURE TRAINING

Our signature training program lets you attend classes from 1 to 5 times per week. We strongly recommend choosing an interval class at least once a week, which includes a higher level of structure and support. From walkers to runners, women will start at their own level and progress throughout the season.
