COACH STACY

Hi, my name is Stacy Severson and this is my 9th year coaching with Moms on the Run!  My love of running really developed when I was in college. I was the kid in grade school… and then high school, who dreaded running a mile. I never felt like I “looked” like a runner since I’m 5 ‘3” (with shoes on), and have never been super thin.   As I met more runners, I quickly learned that the running community is made up of all ages, shapes and sizes.  If you are working to get out there to run, no matter the pace, you’re a runner! I am not a speedy runner, but have lots of energy and endurance and love running 10 mile and half marathon distances.  To date, I also have 13 full marathons under my belt.

I live with my husband, Matt, our two amazing kiddos, Mars (14) and Lucas (12), our dog Penny and cats: Chloe, Thor, and Steve Rogers. (My kids are Avengers fans). If you join me for a virtual class, you’ll likely see appearances from my furry family members. I enjoy staying active with my family playing some pretty epic hide and go seek tag, or in the warmer weather months a neighborhood game of kick ball or “ghost in the graveyard.” I know how challenging it can be to fit fitness into your life when you work and have a family, so I get creative.  Sometimes this means running while my kids bike or doing obstacle courses at the park so we can get some strength training in. I also work full-time as Director of Enrollment Development at Augsburg University.

I coach with Moms on the Run for the amazing friendships, inclusive community of women, and incredible support! I love the diversity of women in our group and the variety of experiences they share. Seeing our members reach their goals is completely inspiring to me! I love being a part of helping others find joy in the journey and learn to love to run!

COACH RACHEL

I discovered my joy for running as a teenager, and participated in all the running sports in high school and college.  I loved running on a team, supporting others through the challenges, and the mental toughness and character it developed in me.  Over the years, I have completed a wide variety of shorter races along with half marathons, and a marathon.  I was hooked on triathlons for many years and I appreciated the variety it offered.  A recent highlight was running with my daughter as she completed her first half marathon; it was a positive, empowering experience for us both!

I live in Duluth with my husband and four children.  We own a counseling practice where I serve as a wellness coach.  In my free time, I enjoy adventures on the water with my kids, paddle boarding, kayaking, rowing, time with friends, reading, and traveling. I look forward to encouraging you along your running journey!

COACH LAURA

Coach Laura is excited to return as a head coach at Duluth Moms on the Run. She loves encouraging others, maybe even more than completing goals herself. She is looking forward to a new season of fitness, fun, and friendship.

Laura originally stumbled across the program in West Fargo, ND when she saw the group exercising in a park. She had recently moved to the area and was interested in running a 5K and meeting new people, so she decided to join.

Two years later, she ran her first marathon – all because of her running buddies. Her friends at West Fargo Moms on the Run supported her when she moved to Duluth and even joined her in running Duluth’s famous Grandma’s Marathon.

Laura is a mom to three children and wife to her husband who is a basketball coach for the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

COACH STEPH

I started my journey with Moms on the Run in 2011 when I was training for my first half marathon. I wanted to learn how to be a better runner and I really wanted to make some mom friends. At the time, I lived in the Cities and I had 2 girls and a baby boy at home. I spent 4 years with White Bear Lake MOTR & a summer with Coon Rapids Dam. I made so many lasting friendships with moms all over the Metro that I was excited to join again in Duluth in 2018 when my family moved north (now totaling 2 girls, 2 boys, 2 dogs & a cat).

I have run everything from 5k to 100 mile ultra marathons, road & trail Ragnars, and triathlon. What I love about MOTR and the sport of running is that everyone can do it by putting one foot in front of the other. I gained that confidence each time I showed up for class and accomplished something new. Laura (pictured here) & I are a great team and we love watching each woman that joins us reach new distances each and every week!

COACH STEPHANIE

Stephanie will be coaching the majority of our Virtual Class Release and Restore: Yoga for Runners.

Yoga has been a part of Stephanie’s life since 2005. Stephanie is passionate about yoga and the health benefits it provides both physically and mentally. Stephanie received her Registered Yoga Teacher 200-hour certification in November 2014 and has been teaching ever since. Stephanie creates a safe space, a welcoming environment and teaches from a place of compassion that allows students to explore powerful healing and growth. Styles of yoga Stephanie teaches are Vinyasa, Hatha, Gentle, Myofascial Release and Kids yoga.

Our signature training program lets you attend classes from 1 to 5 times per week.
