“Moms on the Run has changed my entire way of thinking. I am now accountable for my health. I make sure I take time out of my day to work out, even if it’s 30 minutes, and I’ve found awesome support from the wonderful friends I’ve made. I cannot thank Moms on the Run enough for the friendships and new routine it’s helped me establish. I am now 65 pounds less! Yahoo!”

Melissa, 36, Cottage Grove, MN

“Moms on the Run made me a runner, an activity that will continue the rest of my life. I became a member of a group of loving and supportive women, who have all become a huge part of my life. I am forever grateful that I took this huge step into the unknown!”

“I joined in 2013 as a way to get out of the house and lose some baby weight after having four kids in five years. Wow, did I get so much more! Friendship, joy, laughter, strength and confidence! In 2014, I found out I was pregnant with our fifth child. I was a bit nervous to lose what I had gained in running. Instead my pregnancy was a breeze, delivery went great and my recovery was wonderful. In the 6 months since my daughter was born, I’ve upped my miles more than I ever expected and lost all of the baby weight (and then some)! Beyond that I’ve found a passion I never dreamed of having. Moms on the Run has changed my life and I cannot describe how thankful I am! Our head coaches, Sarah and Shelly, are amazing and we are truly blessed by them!”

JoKasta, 35, Eau Claire, WI

“I’ve been with Mom’s on the Run for nearly five years and can no longer count the ways in which I’ve benefitted from ‘Fitness, Fun & Friendship.’ From accountability to amazing friendships to a complete paradigm shift in the way I view obstacles in my life. I remember listening to women talk about how they laid out what to wear the night before and set goals to run 5, 10, even 15 miles through dark, rain, heat and more. … I couldn’t even imagine myself doing that small step, much less accomplishing a longer run. But slowly I started to wrap my stubborn mind around the idea that maybe I could do these things, too. With each step my mind stretched a little further and I began to imagine the possibilities. And then to actually achieve them. And with the ever present support of women who only see me at various levels of sweaty exhaustion, I have moved to places I never thought I would be. I know you hear it often, but thank you. You make a difference in women’s lives everywhere!”

Denise, 49, Shoreview, MN

“I joined Moms on the Run about 2 years after my son was born. I knew my issue was accountability – so I figured if I paid for something it would force me to attend. My first night I was SO nervous. As an introvert, trying a new group activity was so outside my comfort zone. However, this group was so welcoming and kind to a new face that it felt ok. So I kept coming back.

Two amazing things happened. First, I found my community. These women are so supportive, uplifting, gracious and FUN! These women make me a better mother and friend. I didn’t even know this was missing until they unceremoniously filled in the gaps. The second amazing thing was that I have annihilated my previous running goals (18 months and a pregnancy/baby later). The things I was nervous about with Moms on the Run – the cost and the committed schedule – have now become defaults in our budget and calendar. The women I have met and built friendships with support me on a daily basis, whether they know it or not. And while I’ve set myself even loftier running goals that I am confident I can achieve, that’s not what MOTR is about to me anymore. I’ve found my people!”

“A lot of people seem to quit running when they have kids. That’s when I picked up running. …  Moms on the Run is a place where I’ve been able to grow athletically, as I’ve watched many others do in their personal goals. I love running as hard as I can at times during intervals, right alongside a few friends who push me. In 2015 I trained for, and completed, my first marathon and was thankful to have people to meet up with for some long runs very early in the morning. I am not a morning person, and this was an invaluable gift! I’m very thankful for a fun, thoughtful, motivating, diverse and hardworking group of friends.”

“Since April of 2015, I’ve gone from hating running to running 5Ks–and loving it. Another favorite part has been the Healthy Holiday Challenge, as last year I gained weight over the holidays and hoped this might help me at least maintain. I’m proud to say that I recently put on my favorite pair of ‘skinny jeans.’ The encouragement from the women in our group is fantastic and I truly look forward to each week’s workout. Except planks. I could live without planks! Thank you for helping me to grow healthier and stronger, and forge friendships while doing it!”

”Thank you, Moms on the Run, for an incredible program. I was a reluctant runner when I joined. Always last in the pack, but knew I needed to stick with it. Besides getting me in shape, it’s an absolute blast to be part of it and meet other moms. Last fall, I had a heart attack. My cardiologist told me he thinks the only reason I survived is because of the cardiovascular health of my heart–100% attributable to my running program. So thank you, Moms on the Run, for not only teaching me to love running, but also for saving my life, literally.”

Shannon, 39, Chaska, MN

“Thank you for putting this program together. Since joining, I have lost 18 pounds. This is the first time in my life I have stayed accountable to any exercise program. I was looking for something to do to get in shape and decided to give running a try, even though I had never run before. I went from barely being able to run for 2 minutes, to running my first 5K in 34 minutes, to my best 5K in 28:14. I feel so much stronger and healthier and I actually look forward to class. … Mom on the Run is amazing! The decision to join was the best thing I did this year!”

Jill, 39, Lakeville, MN

“Thanks to Moms on the Run and ‘Hot Sweaty Mamas,’ not only have I run my first, second and third 5Ks, I’ve also completed two triathlons and one duathlon … all in the past 6-8 months. I’m down 10 pounds, I’m eating so much better and loving life. My husband has also run his first 5K, my kids have done their first two triathlons, and even our dogs have gotten more fit!”

“I’ve loved our program and especially the boot camp! The instructor was amazing. She worked us hard and kept it fresh and different each time. Her wealth of knowledge and the information she provided us both in and out of class was exactly what I hoped for in a trainer. I was really pleased! I was pleasantly surprised at the results of interval training (running hard and then walking) too. The bar has been raised!”

Jennifer, 40, Farmington, MN

“I run faster thanks to you! It’s been so fun to have a new group of friends to do this with. I have a fabulous circle of women in my life, but none of them live close to me, so it’s always been hard to motivate myself to work out. Moms on the Run has been just what I needed, and I feel so much healthier now.”

Shaun, 38, Blaine, MN

“Thanks so much for creating these classes. I have told many friends about this great concept of exercising for all skill levels, fellowship and fun! I liked Stephanie’s leadership and encouragement and really enjoyed this class. It helped me, for the first time in many years, to start exercising consistently 4-5 times per week. I’m going to be running my first 5K on my 40th birthday!”

Amie, 39, Vadnais Heights, MN

“I’m thoroughly enjoying Moms on the Run … It has been such a life changing experience for me – opening up the world of running and ‘exercising,’ really. Thanks for creating this program for people like us!”

Brenda, 39, Blaine, MN

“Moms on the Run has made a huge difference in my well being already. I can’t believe how much more energy I have, that my headaches are gone, and that I no longer crave Diet Coke. Just getting out and moving twice a week and drinking all that water has made me feel like a new person. Thanks for Moms on the Run. It was exactly what I didn’t know I was looking for! Thanks for helping us all be better moms.”

Katie, 33, Lakeville

“What an amazing, surprising delight it has been to be a part of your program. I truly never thought I’d make it to the end of this. All of my old friends are saying, ‘You? Running? In a race? No way!’ Your program has proven that anyone can do it if they follow the plan you’ve laid out and have great instructors. I appreciate your program which not only inspired me to start running, but to live a healthier lifestyle.”

Michelle, 40, Shoreview, MN

”I joined Moms on the Run because it was time to get in shape. I couldn’t even run for 1 minute when I joined. Through joining and completing the class, I not only became a runner, but lost 20 pounds in the process. It also allowed me to make some great friends and spend quality time with my daughter.”

Tia, 29, Forest Lake, MN

“After weeks of struggling with an upcoming follow-up oncology appointment, I decided that I needed to change my thoughts and my focus. I needed to be more proactive about taking care of myself–eating better and exercising regularly–instead of sitting there helplessly waiting for cancer to ‘happen again.’ As I result, I’ve lost 23 pounds and can run 30 minutes without stopping. Something I could have never imagined! Karissa: you, my instructor and my running buddies have changed my life. Changed my life! And I will be forever be grateful.”
