HEALTHY KIDS AND HEALTHY FAMILIES

Kids on the Run encourages kids to be healthy and families being active together.

Director Stephanie VanHeel is passionate about family fitness. Because of that, she created a great program that motivates children to love physical activity. All members of a family are invited (for one low price) to enjoy an evening once a week of running and fitness.

WHY CHILDREN?

Why should my child participate in Kids on the Run? The statistics are grim. The childhood obesity rates are staggering. Phy Ed programs are being cut, recess time is insufficient, and our children’s favorite pastimes no longer involve movement. How do we get our kids to be physically active for the recommended 60 minutes a day? In addition, how can we get them excited about living a lifestyle of fitness?

Kids on the Run will provide you and your children the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of fitness and running together. Furthermore, it’s a great way for kids who are not in organized sports to stay active.

HOW DOES KIDS ON THE RUN WORK?

We will be doing cardio intervals that will include games and running on a safe path. We will also provide fun education and incentives to keep your kids motivated. This class will be geared to school-aged children ages 5 to 12. Other family members are not required but are welcome to participate. Younger children are welcome at their parents’ discretion.
