Polar Run Club
Join Moms on the Run for Fitness, Fun & Friendship this winter! Our Polar Run Club typically runs from mid-November to April, but dates may vary by location*.
What is Polar Running?
Our winter running club (aka Polar Run Club) offers you a way to maintain the running endurance you built up during the summer and fall, while staying connected to your teammates in the off-season. Our Polar Run Club gives you the organization and structure you need to succeed.
Polar Run Club is available in select locations as a benefit of Moms on the Run membership and is facilitated by volunteer coordinators or coaches. Twin Cities MOTR Polar Club is registered and insured through the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). Some cities offer running classes or indoor fitness classes instead, and the choices for each city can be found on our Locations page.
The club will meet in various cities where there are at least 5 people signed-up. Meeting times are at least once a week and potentially more often if the group agrees on other dates. Due to decreased daylight hours this time of year, Polar Run Club meetings are usually held Saturday mornings or Sunday late afternoons. You can join any group at anytime that works for your schedule! Please sign up however at your primary location of attendance. If you try other sites, call the coordinator ahead of time to confirm the time and location for that week.
The Fine Print
*Details may vary by city, including dates, training programs, level of coaching, and pricing (our costs vary). The member rate is reserved for those enrolled in the past season of MOTR or is available for those interested in the next season of MOTR; The non-member rate includes a deposit towards the next MOTR running season (May-August). No refunds, except minus a $25 processing fee by November 13th if the group’s schedule does not work for you. You may still receive RRCA benefits if we have already turned in the names. Cost cannot be prorated for joining us later in the season. There is no guarantee that someone will be at a workout. We hope you will keep in contact with each other and keep each other motivated! The volunteer coordinator will typically be there once a week, but we do like to give our committed coaches more flexibility during the down season. There are no refunds if you decide you do not like winter running! :)
