meet our Coaches
Meet Head Coach Deb!
I live in Minneapolis with my husband, 3 kids and our dog. I have always been an athlete; I played 3 sports in high school and continued to play volleyball during college. I started running in college and became passionate about it after my daughter was born. It was the easiest way to get a workout in - something I could do anywhere. Training for races helped me reclaim some of my athlete mentality that had slipped away a bit after becoming a mother. I ran many 5K, 10K, and half marathon races, yet I still didn't consider myself a "runner". After having my 2 boys, I found a program that fueled my passion for being active once again and also helped me finally realize that I could be both an athlete and a mother, however I was still lacking a sense of community and connection with other women who were also focused on their wellness; something I began to realize that I wanted in addition to being active and focusing on my own health. From that moment, I knew that eventually I wanted to transition out of education (a field which I love and still feel very passionate about!) and into something that not only focused on health and wellness, but also on empowering and connecting women. I truly felt like a gift had been dropped into my lap when the opportunity to coach for Moms on the Run presented itself. I have come to learn that if you run, YOU ARE A RUNNER! |
Meet Head Coach Amanda!
Hi! My name is Amanda and I am a mother of twin boys (Caleb and Carter) who are seniors in high school this year! I love to run! I started running in middle school track ran through high school. Life happened, and of course life was busy as a mom. I wish I had found running again sooner, but in 2017 I made a goal to run a full marathon and haven’t stopped since . I have run 2 full marathons, a dozen half marathons, and a lot of training and fun runs in between. I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals, making new friends, and lasting memories. I am excited to be a part of Moms on the Run and get to help anyone who is looking for advice, encouragement, laughter or tears along the way! |
Coach Stacy has been a coach with Moms on the Run for 7 years. She was the kid in school who dreaded running a mile but developed a love for running in college and discovered the running community is made up of all ages, shapes and sizes. She loves running 10 mile and half marathon distances and to date, has run 10 full marathons. She enjoys staying active with her husband and kids and their many pets! She understands how challenging it can be to fit fitness into your life when you work full time and have a family, so she enjoys getting creative and running while her kids bike or doing obstacle courses at the park for some strength training. She loves working with Moms on the Run and truly enjoys helping other women find a way to fit fitness into their busy lives, connect with other women, and have fun in the process.

Coach Debi leads our Saturday endurance runs. She joined Moms on the Run in spring of 2016 and hasn’t looked back. She started running in her early 20s, but fell out of practice during graduate school. She tried many times to get back into a running a routine, but just couldn’t find the motivation to stick with it until joining the program. Moms on the Run provided the friendships and encouragement she needed to keep after it and she has run many 10Ks, 10-milers, and half marathons since. Debi keeps busy as a middle school teacher by day, and in her free time loves reading, traveling, walking her dog, Berta, and hiking in the many beautiful state parks.
