As we wade through the mucky waters of a sudden national crisis, I find myself searching for the good. Looking for those silver linings that represent what positive could possibly come of this situation. And one thing that is really standing out to me is neighborly support, and a concerted effort from so many community members to ask how they can support small businesses at this time.
We too are a small business. Many of them, actually! Moms on the Run is 51 locations independently owned and operated by 31 different business owners. Our central team that supports this is only five employees.
Our mission at Moms on the Run is to inspire and transform women’s lives through fitness, fun and friendship. Like most other small business owners this month, we find ourselves completely shifting how we do business in order to continue our mission in these challenging times. But unlike many others, due to the seasonal nature of our business in most climates, 50% of our entire year’s revenues come in March and April, with the majority of that in March. As you can imagine, registrations for group fitness activities are not a thing on people's radars this month!
Our business owners have been working harder than ever to support our women through these challenging times and to shift our services to offer virtual connection opportunities for our members. We’re pleased to announce that we’ve received excellent feedback on these new methods from our current customers, and are prepared to roll out these online options to kick off future programming as needed.
Right now, we all need something to look forward to. If we are all stuck at home for another month or more, by the end of April we will need fitness, fun and friendship more than ever! While we plan to hit the pavement together as soon as we can, in the meantime we will offer live meet-ups for workouts online, our new training programs and our “virtual happy hours” together.
We have an amazing season planned and we are ready to deliver! We’re asking our valued members for their continued trust and support in Moms on the Run to produce quality community and connection opportunities this spring. Fitness? It’s just a healthy side effect.
Here’s how you can help Moms on the Run get past this current hurdle:
Register for Spring Classes: For our friends in northern climates: Please register for your spring program ASAP, so we can be sure to get you your size and style preference for our new shirt patterns. We are fully prepared with live digital connection opportunities for our members, if and when they are needed to conduct class.
Engage with us on Social Media:This month more than ever we want to be there for you with inspiration and resources for success at home. Another great way you can support our business owners is frequent interaction on our Facebook pages, both nationally and locally. Use hashtags #MOTRstrong and #inthistogether and consider using our profile frame.
Shop gear: Help us clean out inventory to make room for new items. Much of our store is on sale! Use promo code STRONGERTOGETHER to save 25% on your order of all sales and clearance items.
Thank you for your continued support. We will fight through the current challenges and come out stronger than ever before. But we couldn't do this without you! We appreciate your loyalty and dedication to our mission. Stay safe everyone!
