What is Moms on the Run?
Moms on the Run is an instructor-led fitness program with coaching to motivate, educate and encourage you on your health and fitness journey. In our program you'll make new friends, find accountability and have fun while working toward a healthier lifestyle! You don't have to be a mom to join - we welcome ALL women, ALL ages and ALL fitness levels. We offer programming for walkers to beginning runners to experienced runners. Work up to your first 5k, build strength to combat aging and help with weight loss goals, increase endurance to achieve longer distance goals, improve speed and fitness and meet new friends all while having fun! All classes include a combination of cardio (walking, run/walk or running) and body weight or small dumbbell/resistance band strength exercises. |

About Our Program
Our Mandarin program meets at multiple locations and classes feature interval training for ALL levels.
Each class includes cardio (walking, run/walk, running), strength training focused on women's needs, stretching and education. Weekday classes are 60 minutes long and Sunday class is 2 hours including warm up, cool down, mobility and stretching.
Our weekly Sunday Endurance Run or Walk meets at a different location each week and is designed to help build aerobic endurance, with options for runners to increase mileage to train for longer distance races. We end each Endurance Run with stretching and mobility to cool down and get loose which helps us move easier and be less sore after our longer workout of the week. The full Sunday meeting schedule is sent to members at the beginning of each new season.
Walker or runner, you will start at your own level and progress throughout the season.
Walkers will follow an interval training schedule of easy walking/faster walking. Those in our “Learn to Run” program will begin with walking and gradually transitions to more running throughout the program. Experienced runners will join our accelerated program with longer running intervals and speed work and will be challenged to improve endurance and speed.

Signature Interval Training
Our 60 minute Signature Training classes includes 35 minutes of cardiovascular interval training for all levels, a warm-up and cool-down, 10-15 minutes of strength training, and 5 minutes of stretching. Interval training improves strength, speed, cardiovascular fitness, metabolism and running performance.
We believe that strength training is an integral part of training as a runner. In order to run strong, we must BE STRONG! Our strength work focuses on runner specific exercises that will help us avoid injuries, tone and tighten muscles and run longer and faster! Our weekly Signature Training Program classes will get you to that first 5k or help you improve your strength, speed and endurance. Choose to attend 1-5 classes per week. From walkers to runners, women will start at their own level and progress throughout the season. |
HILL REPEATS/STRENGTH TRAINING - Currently Combined with Mandarin OR Downtown Class
This 60 minute class will focus on building strength and endurance while we run "Florida hills" aka bridge repeats! In "flat Florida" we must find ways to get ready to run more hilly areas and there's no better way to do it than with friends!
This class will start with a dynamic warm up then repeats over the bridges to build strength in our legs, hips and glutei. Class will end with gentle stretching and we will be on our way to start our day after a great morning workout session! Options: Mandarin and Downtown/San Marco (message us for location details) |
Destination/Endurance Run
On Sundays, our Mandarin, Northside and St Johns locations come together for our weekly Destination/Endurance Run/Walk! We break into groups according to fitness level and walk or run for around 80 minutes. Each Destination Run class includes dynamic stretching, warm up, cardio with walking, run/walk, jog/run intervals, cool down, static stretching and a small amount of post run bodyweight strength. ALL paces and ALL distances welcome.
This class is a great option for anyone who wants to gain endurance through longer walking or running cardio segments or for those training for a 5K to a Marathon who need the accountability and support to get through longer training runs. Our starting location/route changes weekly but we make sure each route has water stops and directional signage. The location is announced each week through email and in our private FB group so you can plan ahead for driving time. Early start option available weekly for those training for long distance races with additional mileage needs. |
SPEED WORK / LONG INTERVALS AND STRENGTH - Currently combined (San Marco on Tues at 5am
This hour to hour 20 min class will focus on building strength and speed through longer faster intervals with rest. The class includes a warm up and running drills, main set with speed work or easy pace long intervals and cool down. If you need to be home to get for work or to ge the kids to school you can leave at 6am.
Ifyou can stay till 6:20 we will also be doing 20 minutes of runner specific strength! Bring: Yoga mat and water bottle |
