On your first group run after May 20, the last thing you’ll want to hear someone say is: “It was so much fun! The course was great. The medal was beautiful! The Caribou coffee samples were delicious and my toddler son loved the biscuit at the finish line!”* Because, unless you were running Twin Cities Orthopedics’ Women Run the Cities, presented by PNC Bank, you’ll know you missed out on something special — namely, an all-women’s celebration of fitness and community that’s as empowering as it is fun.
And if someone else adds: “Beautiful course!! Lots of volunteers! Love seeing people in their yards cheering us on,” that probably won’t go over well either.
But, if you sign up for the race now, (it’s not too late and the weather forecast for Sunday looks great) you’d be able to chime right in with something like: “Incredible positive supportive environment all along the course — before, during, after the event. Excellent volunteers.”
In that case, you wouldn’t mind if someone else added: “Fabulous just Fabulous!” because, of course, you’d have run the 5K, 10K or 10 Mile event, experienced its unique spirit, and celebrated with your friends at the finish line festival that includes a brunch bar and a complimentary mimosa! But, if you didn’t sign up, hearing someone say: “Overall, this was a GREAT EVENT! I will for sure be back next year with our team!” it might leave you thinking that a whole year is a long time to wait for the next Women Run the Cities.
Join the celebration, join your friends, join your Mom’s on the Run teammates for Women Run the Cities on Sunday, May 20 at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis. You won’t regret it.
