Why I Love MOTRvate28

It's MOTRvate time, and I'm excited for myself and for all the women in our program who are going to take great strides toward their health goals this month. I want to share with you all the reasons I love MOTRvate!

I need to get MOTRvated!
Truth is, I need external motivation. Turning health "chores" into a game just makes it more fun. I get POINTS for eating veggies? Yes, please!

I'm only competing against myself
Okay, so I get that there is a prize if I get the top score, but I have absolutely zero chance of winning. And it doesn't matter. I like the idea of setting my own "doable" goal each week and seeing if I can get there.

My youngest son is highly competitive. I'm embarrassed to admit that there are certain athletic activities he doesn't want to participate in because "he can't win." Ugh, I would think I have failed as a parent if I didn't have two other more sensible children! While he's still learning, personally I find a high sense of accomplishment in setting small goals and getting them done, and this leaves me more motivated to reach the next goal even if it may be slightly more challenging.

It will make a difference
If I improve where I am at in even ONE category, I will be better off at the end of this month! I like the idea of just choosing one category to focus on each week. And for my own personal challenge, I'm going to clarify water as the non-negotiable for the whole month. I know from past experience that increasing water intake is huge for my health, yet I've let it slide lately anyway. To think that I could be back into a water routine by the end of February AND have increased my cardio minutes or fruit and veggie intake leaves me giddy with excitement.

I need reminders
Each and every day is crazy busy and when I don't have a physical reminder in front of me it's so easy to forget all the little things that may seem non-essential in the typical chaos of a weekday. A tracking sheet left out on the counter is exactly what I need to fill up a water bottle on my way through the kitchen to my desk.

Let's do this ladies! Tell me why you are excited to get MOTRvated. What is the points category that you can't wait to attack this month?
I'm MOTRvated!
