Happy TC Marathon Weekend! So many of our incredible Moms on the Run teammates will be running the TC 10-Mile and TC Marathon on Sunday, Oct. 9, and we’re fired up to lend our support!
Whether you’re running or showing up to cheer friends along the course, here are our top 5 ways to make the most out of your TC Marathon experience:
Wear MOTR Gear.If you’re running, we’ll know to yell extra-loud for you. If you’re a fan, it will help you stand out from the 300,000-plus spectators, making it easier for teammates to spot you!
Yell and Cheer Your Head Off. If you’re a spectator, make or bring a sign. Cheer on your MOTR teammates and the other runners, too. Everyone needs an extra lift (or laugh) on race day!
Don’t Forget the Essentials. Runners, make your list and keep it close. As spectators, we can’t live without layers, lawn chairs, snacks and hot beverages. Oh, and plenty of cowbell!
Share Your #MOTRstrong! Take and post photos of yourselves and your teammates on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter. Use the hashtags #MOTRstrong or #LoveMyTeam with the respective event hashtags, #tcmarathon and #tc10mile.
Consult the Official Spectator’s Guide. TC In Motion puts together a comprehensive online resource (in PDF format). It’s full of helpful information for spectators and participants alike, with maps denoting the best viewing spots, directions for signing up to track an athlete’s progress, emergency contact info, and more.
Not Sure Where to Cheer? Join the Moms on the Run “SuperFan” area, along Summit Avenue, between Hamline and Albert. This spot is in the median (SuperFans will be on the runners' left as they pass by), and it's just past mile marker 7 and 23. Bring snacks and beverages, and make a day of it! TC 10 Mile front-of-the-pack runners typically begin passing by at about 7:30 a.m.
