Today, our topic is Exercise and Your Mental Health, a conversation that is sponsored by our friends at PNC Bank. Our special guests for this video include Kate Kelly, Regional President of PNC Bank Minnesota, and Sharon McKim, licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy with the PNC Well-Being Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Sharon talks about the link between our physical health and our mental health and gives us a great, easy breathing exercise we can do to help decrease anxiety, promote relaxation and positive energy, reduce stress and blood pressure and promote mindfulness. Sharon is a licensed, board certified Doctor of Physical Therapy. She earned her doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh and has a bachelor's degree in Biology from Gannon University. Sharon has practiced as a PT for 14 years, with a primary focus in outpatient orthopedics. Sharon's approach combines manual therapy, tailored exercise programs, and preventative education regarding activities of daily living and ergonomics in order to fully treat not only symptoms but the cause of pain and dysfunction for each patient.
