 Gabe and her son, Gavin Our second annual Celebrate Moms LIVE virtual 5K was a success! We loved seeing so many of you individually and with your teams celebrate moms, a beautiful day and running! Coach Carrie and Coach Amy were awesome motivators in our ears, cheering everyone on throughout the race and finish line. Congrats to everyone for putting in the mileage and fun!
We loved Denver member Gabe Cox's story. Her young son wore her tracker, so during the race in the Charge app, it looked like Gabe was running. In reality, it was Gavin — who came in 5th place! Catherine Breiwick exemplified total mom mode, maximizing her time by running her 5K outside her daughter's dance practice. Teams from Chisago, Forest Lake, New Brighton, Roseville, Shoreview and White Bear Lake Moms on the Run all raced together in one location.  When Moms on the Run hosted its first destination run in Clearwater, FL, this past January, Jacksonville Moms on the Run member Chan You not only crossed the finish line of her first marathon, but celebrated her 39th birthday.
It was literally an uphill battle — both physically and mentally, Chan recalls, including facing several bridges and getting lost in a neighborhood. She persisted, telling herself not to give up, knowing that her Jacksonville MOTR teammates were waiting for her at the finish line. It is that accountability — and her teammates running with her the final three miles — that ultimately propelled her across the finish line. If you haven’t heard of plogging, it is a combination of running, jogging and picking up garbage. In honor of Earth Day, Lakeville/Burnsville Moms on the Run chose to plog during their morning run — and they were literally rewarded with a surprise! Franchise Owner Kim Burggraaf found a $100 bill in the woods as her MOTR group was picking up garbage. They plan to donate to a local environmental group. What a fun full circle moment!
 More than 150 runners with Moms on the Run gathered in Clearwater, FL Jan. 28-31, 2022, for our first destination run weekend — open to women from all of our locations nationwide. It was fun to see so many represent MOTR with our bright shirts and smiling faces.
Sweat for a Cause: Apple Valley/Farmington Moms on the Run Raise $1,300 for Local Charity12/14/2021 Apple Valley and Farmington Moms on the Run partnered with The Meeting Point for an event on Dec. 8, to raise $1,300 in gift cards for local nonprofit, Moms and Neighbors. Franchise Owner Jenna Allerson posted, "Our goal was to raise $1,000 for families in our community and we far exceeded that with raising over $1,300. 100% of these donations will go directly to the families in need! We're so grateful for everyone who came out and gave so generously and for all of our local businesses who donated to make beautiful prize packs for our four lucky winners!" The Sun Thisweek featured Apple Valley and Farmington Moms on the Run in an article titled "Raising the 'Barre' for a good cause in Rosemount." |
