![]() More than 250 runners joined us for this year's Moms on the Run 5K/10K and Kids Run at beautiful Lake Phalen in St. Paul and online virtually. For our in-person event, the overnight rain moved out and we were greeted with perfect temps for a race! If you ran with us, you can find your race results here. We also have a Google photo album to which you can upload your race photos for us to use and maybe find a photo of you! The race featured fun for the whole family. The kids were able to take part in face painting, crazy hair and sign making (yay, moms!), before their own 1/2 mile "Run with an Olympian" and kiddie dash. Our after-party included prizes courtesy of Run n Fun, Rachel Baar with BeautyCounter and Norwex, Author and Coach Gabe Cox, UCAN and new Moms on the Run merchandise. We loved the fun food trucks: Inferno Wood Fire Pizza, Powl (smoothies and acai bowls), and Cookie Dough Bliss. And a big thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make the event run smoothly. We're grateful for you! ![]() Mike Ewaldt was an inspiration to all of us at Moms on the Run, and we are deeply saddened to learn of his passing. Mike and his sister, Niki Ronnan, crossed many finish lines — several marathons, 20-milers, 5Ks, Ragnars and other races — as she ran pushing his wheelchair. Niki never planned on running until her mom signed her up for Moms on the Run in 2010. She began to take her brother out on the trails with her, calling themselves Team Heart: she was the legs; he was the heart. Niki became a coach for many years with Stillwater and White Bear Lake Moms on the Run. We want to send our deepest condolences to Niki and her family on their loss. Read more of their story here and watch here. And in memory of Mike, remember “you are lucky you can run.”
![]() Lakeville/Burnsville Moms on the Run Franchise Owner and Head Coach, Kim Burggraaf, was recently invited to share her story with The Faces of Lakeville. Writer Annie Collins shares: "Once you start reading this story, you will quickly understand why Kim Burggraaf, franchise owner of Lakeville Moms On The Run, was nominated to be featured as one of The Faces of Lakeville. Kim is one of the most genuine people in our community who is easily inspired by others ... however, SHE is the one that truly inspires so many around her. After talking with her for just a few minutes, I immediately felt like I have known her for awhile! Her story on how she ended up as franchise owner for both Lakeville & Burnsville Moms on the Run is a good one. It felt like it was all meant to be!" We are so proud of Kim and all of her hard work she puts in to build her Moms on the Run community in Lakeville and Burnsville. "I feel so honored to have been nominated - what a fun surprise that was!" exclaims Kim. "Big thanks to the community member that nominated me and to Amy at The Faces of Lakeville for taking time to share our story!" Check out Coach Kim's story! ![]() You never know what you’re going to find when you’re plogging! If you haven’t heard of plogging, it is a combination of running, jogging and picking up garbage. In honor of Earth Day, Lakeville/Burnsville Moms on the Run chose to plog during their morning run — and they were literally rewarded with a surprise! Franchise Owner Kim Burggraaf found a $100 bill in the woods as her MOTR group was picking up garbage. They plan to donate to a local environmental group. What a fun full circle moment! |
