![]() The weather in Duluth, MN, can be unpredictable. Situated on the edge of Lake Superior (the world's largest freshwater lake), the city can be blasted with lake-effect snowstorms and frigid winter and spring temps. So when Covid hit this spring and states mandated shelter-at-home orders, Duluth Moms on the Run head coach Laura Wieck and her family challenged themselves to get outside every day — no matter the weather. After finishing a family 5K, they've continued that challenge all summer, even taking on MOTR's Four on the 4th of July. Read on to learn more of Laura's story and what makes her #MOTRstrong.

Today's training tip is all about running in the heat. During these steamy days of summer, we want to make sure we get our runs in while staying healthy in the heat. Carrie offers three tips regarding planning our run, hydration and post-run replenishment. Today she's here to share two of her favorite stretches for the lower back. Our backs get extremely tight from running, biking — or even sitting at the computer. Here are a couple of easy stretches you can do to loosen your lower back muscles. ![]() As the official training partner for Women Run the Cities, Moms on the Run talks about virtual training and racing. This season is like no other, right? While in-person races are cancelled, virtual races are hot and we want to encourage you to keep after your goals. Stick to your training plan or the one offered at WRTC and give yourself some grace. Pacing for virtual races can be hard on your own but if you prepare by following your plan it won't be such a shock once you get after it race day! On race day, remember to start at your pace. Try not go out too hard and definitely plan some fun along the way!
