Today, Moms on the Run National Fitness Director, Olympian Carrie Tollefson, talks about accountability. Accountability is an important element in our training at Moms on the Run. Let's face it: Most days, you will never roll out of bed for an early morning run or show up to class after a long day of work or kiddos unless you know people are waiting for you! Accountability partners make it more likely that you'll attain your fitness goals, and having a community of like-minded people to work out with makes it more fun. At Moms on the Run, our tagline is "Fitness, Fun & Friendship," and accountability is part of that "friendship" community we form on our teams. To find a location near you, click here.
You never know what you’re going to find when you’re plogging! If you haven’t heard of plogging, it is a combination of running, jogging and picking up garbage. In honor of Earth Day, Lakeville/Burnsville Moms on the Run chose to plog during their morning run — and they were literally rewarded with a surprise! Franchise Owner Kim Burggraaf found a $100 bill in the woods as her MOTR group was picking up garbage. They plan to donate to a local environmental group. What a fun full circle moment!
Training partners, running buddies, walking friends, teammates — whatever you call them, they are important. The friendships and accountability that are formed within our team structure are the foundation of what works at Moms on the Run. Dream together, encourage each other, and keep each other accountable. We will miss you if you don't show up!
What features should you look for when choosing a jogging stroller?
