KARISSA, FOUNDER & CEO

THE PASSION IGNITES

Fueled by her faith and a passion for fitness and helping others, Moms on the Run founder and CEO Karissa Johnson started her own personal training business in 2001. After having three children in four years, she expanded her business to offer classes for moms and babies in 2007. In 2008, Moms on the Run was born, and in 2012 after operating 12 locations the business started franchising.

KARISSA’S CERTIFICATIONS

Karissa is certified through the American Council on Exercise as both a Personal Trainer and Health Coach, and through the Road Runners Club of America as a Running Coach. A native of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and graduate of the University of Minnesota, she is also a Certified Nutrition Specialist through the American Academy of Sports Dietitians and Nutritionists.

She holds numerous continuing education credits in nutrition, supplements, weight loss, bodybuilding, health counseling and more. Her additional certifications include: First Aid, CPR/AED, ACE YMCA Group Fitness Instructor, BodyPump Instructor (Les Mills), and Golf Conditioning Specialist (GMP Fitness).

A FOUNDER AND MOM ON THE RUN

Karissa and her husband Ben (and one of three kids still at home!) reside in Blaine, Minnesota.
