Moms on the Run has an exciting season in store for 2012! Each year your hard work and determination inspires us to continue to offer our best to this program. Our focus this year is to expand this opportunity to help more women achieve the great sense of accomplishment and success that has been experienced in this training group, while not sacrificing the personal level of attention and service we aim to give to each of our customers. To make this a reality we will be transitioning some of our programs to franchise ownership. We're very excited this year to be expanding this opportunity to women in other parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin!
Here are some more details for this year:
*Some items will vary by location.3 programs to choose from*Walking (because not everyone's cut out to be a runner, and that's okay!)
Learn to RunIntermediate Runners Class dates vary by location, but generally run the last full week of April through August 25th*. All 3 programs will focus on interval training for increased fat burning. Our Learn to Run program starts out with mostly walking and transitions gradually to more jogging, and experienced runners will be challenged to improve their times and endurance. Walkers will be encouraged to follow a speed interval training schedule. Registering as early as possible will help us to know if we have adequate enrollment for all 3 groups at each location.
Discounts for Returning Members*Past participants of the 5k training program are eligible for reduced entry fees. Silver Members (past participants of 1 year) will save $20. Gold Members (participants of 2 years) will save $40. Platinum Members (participants of 3 or more years) will save $60.
Additional options: Boot Camp, Longer Distances Boot CampWe all know the importance of building muscle to rev up our metabolism and stay tone! Cardio just doesn't do this justice so we will have an optional mini-boot camp workout after our walk/run workout that will focus on strength training. We are reducing the cost this year so more women can participate. Stay 12 minutes after stretching for only about $2 a class, starting after the first two weeks. Payment is due up front; $69 for 16 weeks. For the same price as a gym membership each month, you can get in a comprehensive workout this way twice a week!
Run Longer*
Select locations will meet for a third workout this year at no additional cost. This workout will focus on increasing the distance over 3 miles, optionally to 8 miles by the end of August, and is recommended for intermediate runners. A 10k and 10 mile training program will be available at no extra cost. 8-10 mile group runs will be available in Centerville in September to train for the Women Run The Cities 10 mile at a fee of only $29 for members. A Half Marathon training program will be available in Centerville, MN this year Sunday nights June-August for only $69 for members.
*
We encourage our women in the learn-to-run program to also come to this third workout to participate at their usual distance. Referral IncentivesYou will receive a $20 credit towards a future MOTR program or MOTR merchandise* for every paid participant you refer to our program, unlimited!
Free T-shirts or Tanks! All participants will receive a performance technical shirt in the style of their choice while supplies last. Size and Style availability vary by location. Please review the sizing specifications provided on our product store or through your franchise before making your choice, as we regularly change manufacturers or styles.
Weekly challengesYou need to stay motivated between classes, and we're going to help you do that with accountability and prize incentives! Participation in the contests is optional.
Ladies' Night OutsBecause a girl's gotta have some fun! Each group is encouraged to schedule some social activities outside of class to further their friendships and sense of team.
A Portion of Proceeds going to Feed My Starving ChildrenI'm excited to partner with
Feed My Starving Children, a local nonprofit that packages food here in Minnesota and sends it overseas to over 50 countries. At least 10% of our profits will go to the charity and local MOTR classes will even have the option of volunteering there as a group one night to package the meals and experience the life-saving mission we are a part of! At only 24 cents per meal, think about how much food we can provide to those who live in poverty.
Season Kickoff Event! Will it be a 5k race? A party?! Stay tuned, more details to come.

Discounted Body Composition TestingAll participants local to the Twin Cities are eligible for discounted before-and-after body fat testing. This is optional. A cost of $29 covers both the before and after tests. It is up to the interested person to contact
Karissa to set up a time and reserve the appointment with advance payment. 5 minute appointments will be at the Premier Physique Studio just off I-35 and Hwy 97 in Forest Lake. Body composition tells you the percent of your weight which is fat vs. lean mass, and is a helpful measurement that motivates progress when the scale isn't moving so quickly. It is more important as an indicator of health and fitness than your actual weight.
Another fun bonus: All runners will receive 10% off Olympia Granola Bars! These delicious energy bars will provide the nutritional training boost you need! See the sidebar on this website for more info on this all-natural "meal on the go".
Looking forward to another great season! Join us on facebook now to start to get to know your great new community of friends!

THE FINE PRINT
…all those other details that are important to mention. Every effort will be made to have the instructor or a substitute present at each class. In case of emergencies and last minute situations, class should be continued without the instructor if she has not arrived 5 minutes into the class start time. Participants will know the scheduled workout in advance.
The class fees “assume” there will be weather cancellations – up to 2 cancellations for each day/night of the class. (For example, for a Mon/Thurs class there are 2 allowed on Mondays and 2 allowed on Thursdays). Any more than this, and the instructor will arrange make ups on a date that works for the majority.
The weather policy states that class will be held in rain or snow but not in storms. Class will not be held when the heat index reaches 100.* (may vary by standards in a local climate)
There will be no class on holidays or holiday weekends, to include but not limited to: Memorial Day, Independence Day. There also will be no class on our officially promoted races, although women who are not participating in the event are welcome to decide to meet together without their coach for a workout.
